We've teamed up with a group of clients to bring utilities to a portfolio of new and existing sites in an agricultural area in the East Midlands.

Last week, we hit the site with everyone involved, walking over 3 km to check things out on the ground and match it up with our original plans.

Instead of just giving plans and quotes based on maps, we decided to get our boots on the ground. Walking the route helped us spot potential issues like land drains and deal with them upfront.

We got all the stakeholders in on the action, which enabled us to highlight and discuss potential problems and brainstorm solutions on the move. We even chatted about future developments on the land and what we needed to do to ensure they would not be affected by the route of our pipework.

One tricky situation we sorted out was the plan to level the ground for development. We quickly realised that would cause issues with the depths for laying our cables, so we nipped that in the bud early on, avoiding any major issues further down the line.
